Tiny white splotch on LCD

Im not sure what kind of problem this is. There is a little white dot that is bigger than a pixel on my LCD screen. I thought the screen was defective but now I have a new LCD screen and the same white dot is there. I swear this is the same white dot that I used to brush my finger across and make go away. But how can that be if it's a software problem. The second LCD I have now is a different brand and I bought it from a different place.

Hi Saith,

Some questions about your white dot.

• Is it there from boot up or only when you load a program or browser - Is it possible that it is a very small minimized window, firefox sometimes has an issue like this with a very small window on the screen

• Where on the screen is it located - is it stationary or does it appear in a different location each boot up

• Do you use a wall paper on your desktop - could it be on the background

Seems to me that if you have changed your monitor that it would be highly unlikely to get another white dot in the same location, I would be looking more for something on the PC, a program or background wallpaper or some software thats having a glitch.

Ok, this is really wierd. I shut off my computer. The LCD went to a black screen and said "no signal". The white dot remained. However, I took a screenshot of a video with VLC and the screenshot didn't have the white dot on it.

The white dot is always in the same location at the same size on both of the LCD screens.
