IE6 History missing

I use IE6 & win XP but when i try to view history,I am directed to a folder History IE5 located at C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Local Settings\History\History.IE5.Instead of showing me the web pages i have visited,I am shown only the folder which has a file named index.dat(with an wmp icon)
hats only what i can see (\History.IE5\index.dat) in left panel when i click history button in my IE6.

• Turn off the ActiveX Blocking functions in your antivirus software.
• Install the most recent update for your antivirus software.
• Remove your antivirus software from your computer.
but no effect
i tried already sytem restore, adjust date but still same problem
i tried already in GOOGLE and in other forum but with no luck
can anyone knows how to fix this?

I have been having the same issue. We run in a Terminal Server environment and out of 5 servers, only one displays the history correctly. The other 4 servers only show that same "history.ie5" folder.
