Can't install printer software, please help!

Printer install wizard says ""The wizard was interupted before printer software could be completely installed"", It will not let me install the driver to let my printer work. I've turned off my Norton software. Don't know what to do.

You could try uninstalling the software and then install again.

also, if you have SP2 installed on Windows XP, check the printer maker's website for a newer version of the printer driver. may be the one supplied with the printer has a problem with SP2.

Why was it interrupted? Screensaver, power-glitch etc?
...Let's assume the PC is right,... then you need a new loading....You could create another folder and install the drivers there. IE rename the old folder, start again...at worst you can revert (make a note of the name\)...and if it fixes then you can shift the folder to recycle, etc.

I am presuming you tried a to re-install and that fails...because of the earlier corruption.
Fiinding an updated driver is a "good idea" - but it is an added complication IMHO at this stage.....I'd like to see the priinter working ....BEFORE I update.
Some updates are quite trivial and it always safer to stick with what you know.....eh?
