Windows Media Player Problem

A few weeks ago I updated windows and installed windows media player 1. Ever since then when I watch video files for my graduate school the videos continuously stop to buffer. I have 256kbps cable internet and have never had a single problem until this new version of media player was downloaded. I have changed the settings to allow for 30 seconds of buffering content and the problem still occurs all the time. Can someone help me? Thanks.

256k is not a lot of bandwidth for streamed video so I would expect quite a lot of pauses for buffering. You are using v10 of WMP ,right, not the 'buggy' v11 which is still in beta?

I'm getting a error in WMP when trying to burn to a CD.
"Interface not registered". What is this and how do I fix it???
Please help...
