word files wont open on double click

hi peeps got another puzzle 4 yaz. when i save word files and try to open them by double clicking or right clicking "open" an error message occurs, the windows is entitled: "Java virtual machine launcher" and the error message reads: "fatal exception occured. Program will exit". However, when i right click and click "EDIT" it opens up fine. Anyone no what the hells goin on? lol as u all know any help what so ever is appreciated as always. Thanks

I don't think this problem has anything to do with MS office or Word......I think you Java application is messing up...did you un-install Java to see if problem goes away ?? you can always install it back from the following link:
