Open Source Antivirus Programs

Anybody has any experience with running open source virus protection programs like Clamwin or Winpooch? I'm wondering whether they're secure enough for a regular household. I don't frequent any warez or porn sites, so I'm just wondering whether that kind of free protection is enough.

Thanks.

Not used Winpooch but I know Clamwin is OK. Aside from Clamwin this is my personal list in MY order of preference; you choose your own order ....
