Works 7 error suggesting reinstall but no CD available
Pardon me if this is a rehash of previous posts. I didn't find anything usable thru SEARCH.
My mother's computer is an HP running Windows XP with Works 7. We are unable to open any word processor templates or blanks. The other programs (database, spreadsheet, etc) open with no issues.
The error message is something like "Works cannot access one or more files needed to run Word Processor. ...files may have been moved, renamed...Try reinstalling Works and try again." Sorry I don't have the exact error message.
I found some fixes thru microsoft support but they all ended with reinstalling Works. We do not have the CD needed to reinstall Works.
I'm not sure if this is related but I looked under ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS and saw Works 2000 in addition to Works 7. I was unable to remove the Works 2000, it also asked for a CD.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
