Need advise for converting WMA to MP3

I have created a bunch of WMA's from my CD collection using Windows Media Player but have received an MP3 player as a gift.
The mp3 player does not play WMAs.

Is there an easy and hopefully free utility to convert WMA to MP3?
I'm looking for something that can handle tags, Variable Bit Rate, high quality output, and batch jobs.

Thanks in advanced,
~soupy

the best bet is using a different media player like musicmatch jukebox to rip the songs in the first place. i don't like converting from WMA to MP3, because you are taking a compressed file, with it's own inherent losses, and compressing it again, causing other losses. what you will wind up with are songs that sound as if they were saved at a lower bitrate than what they were originally saved. if you go with musicmatch, here is some good info on how to use it.

musicmatch kicks ass
it is a great music program and if you do a search on a file sharing program you may find a key generator so you can have the full version..
