Video controller problem!?!?!

hi!
im new to computers realy but i got a virus and had to reformat my laptop and since ive reformated it i have no software for my soundcard or my video card, i downloaded sumthing i dont know what but the sound works but i cant play any games, it comes up with unable to create 3D setting or just crashes and shuts down, ive looked in dxdiag, but i dont know what im looking at, ive installed windows xp home and got service pack 2 but like i said i dont know what im looking for can any ov you help!?!?!?!

P.S ive tried saving the dxdiag but when i paste it here it say's too many characters

Some essential info required:
1. Version of Windows your running

2. Make/exact model of laptop

3. Version of DirectX installed (dxdiag will tell you)

Your statement "I downloaded something I don't know what" is no way to try and solve a problem. You should never install anything unless you know what it is.

ive got it working, when i sent you the information i found that the model number was different to the one on the bottom of the laptop, anyway i went to the clevo site and downloaded the software
