Win Msg - Blocked means blocked IP?

Hi

I have windows messenger on windows xp. Our household shares a
laptop and when I signin to Win Mgr under my name I have blocked a user and they have done the same to me. Another member of the household wishes to contact this
said blocked user and what I wish to know is, if the other laptop user signs in under their hotmail acount in windows messenger will the said blocked user not see this
person as we are using the same IP address. I suppose what I am
fundamentatly asking, is when you block a user are blocking the IP
address of the laptop.

If this blocked user has added the contact of the other member of my
household what do they both see when they sign in, do they both show as offline?

If this is the case... Is there a way around it, or do I need to get the blocked contact to unblock me to read the messages from the other household users?

Hope you can help I'm pretty new to this msgr thing which I know may come as a shock to some! Any help very much appreciated.

Kind regards

blocking is done per user, so you will always appear offline to the blocked contact, but your other household member will appear online when they sign in.
