Videos and Pictures are pixelized
Ok i have solved my sound troubles. However my videos and pictures look pixelized, not as smooth as they were before the install of windows xp pro. I have download the updated nVidia video driver from here http://www.emachines.com/support/pro...es&model=T3410
But when i play videoes they look pixelized (not smooth), same with pic even my background.
Here's what i did:
-The video card is a mx 4000 e-geforce(not a powerhouse but it does the job)
-I installed the video card drivers from the cd that came with the video card after i installed the video drivers from the website above
-I also installed direct x that came with the CD
-I haven't played any videos or pics before these installations unfortantly, so i don't know if it was fine before
-I do know that before erasing the harddrive and installing windows xp pro, the vidoes and pics were smooth with that same videos card or with my regular monitor
-Today i went to microsoft website and installed direct x from this website http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en, but that didn't smooth out the videos or the pics
-My computer is an emachines t3410
-Some help would be much apprecaited

Eliminate the possibilities by trying the offending vids on another com/player etc and trying other videos on the problematic player.
If you narrow it down to a particular player then I'd suggest uninstalling it and either finding an alternative or reinstalling it again.

Its not a particular player
Its not a particular player, its the computer as a whole. Like whatever videos i play or pics i see, they look pixelized (not smooth). Even the desktop background pics are pixelized. Also even the windows logo isn't smooth, its pixelized. They were fine before the reinstallation process. I erase the harddrive completely. Do you think its some sort of drivers am missing?

Which would suggest something which isn't affected by an os/software reinstallaton.

No. It sounds like hardware(wq). Do you have another drive you could try a fresh installation on? Only Windows. No other software. Try another completely fresh install, preferably on a new (or different) drive with no other software. Play the vid files and and see what happens.

Unfortantly i dont have new drive. I think i will play around with it for a while. I will uninstall the video card and its drivers, and i will also uninstall the drivers i got from the emachines site and see what happens. I don't know why this happened, i mean before the total erase of the hard (and i mean totally erased everything, so it was like bran new) everything was smooth and fine. So am going to try everything before i do an installation of windows. Thanks for the replys

I did a system restore to when i first booted after the installation of xp, but nothing improved. So i undid my restoration. Oh yeah my icons are also pixelized, the whole computer is pixelized. I thought it might have been the monitor, but i connected to my TV via video card and it still is pixelized. I can't find anything on this on google. I guess i could live with a pixelized computer, since everything else runs fine. But man this is so annoying. Any help would be much, much, appreciated.

Ahhhhhhhh... So, it's not just vids, but in fact the entire display which has become "pixelized". It's not the monitor mate, it's just gonna display the signal it receives.
Hence, I think your Video Card is faulty. Try removing it entirely, reinserting it and reinstalling it again or check it in another system and/or borrow a mate's card to try in yours.

So, maybe not your video card mate, but the symptoms you describe would seriously suggest a hardware fault of some description.
Nothing lasts forever and mainboards can break too. I'd get it checked out.

Hmm, i did leave the computer on for about 2 full days when i erased the harddrive. Am going to try that flash bios thing though, before purchasing another motherboard. However, when the motherboard is faulty, does everything runs at 100%. Becuase other than the pixelization, everything runs great, way better than before the reinstallation. I did a fresh install, is there really no way it could be a driver am missing. I will unplug the video card and plug the VGA connector straight to the motherboard once more just to be absolutly sure. Thanks for the replies. Oh yeah i also flashed the motherboard once already, but don't know if it was the new ones.

Well the likelyhood that all the bits would break together and you did say you had done a clean reinstallation, which generally does improve things immensely and would be unaffected by a video card/slot fault.
Most places would check the board for free so I'd get it checked out mate.
