Antivirus Info needed

Hi Guys. I was using Avira and it just decided to not work. I uninstalled it and downloaded the latest Avast home. Anyone here has good/bad reviews about it kindly reply. Thanks!

Hmm, I didn't much like Avira, but that was more aesthetics. The constant nag screens were annoying. Anyway...

Avast seems to be okay. Its footprint is reasonably small, it's updated often, there's a good deal of flexibility as to configuration. I like the boot scan option. Of the free AV utilities, it's my favorite. [shrugs] No defense is perfect, as I'm sure you know. A wary user at the keyboard helps as well.

Good luck.

Stick with Avast. AVG is good for minor / small viruses, but I've noticed Avast is a hard piece of SW that will delete viruses and give options on how to do it.

I've got it and I do pref it.

For those that prefer AVG, hey it's alright too. It's been a long time since one of my computers caught anything serious, so take it with a grain of salt. To reiterate, your own good sense and caution are necessary as well.
