Windows Media player 11 Itunes music wont play

Alright, I am running Microsoft Windows Vista. Within the last week or so i tryed playing music through itunes and all that would show is 0:00 when i double clicked on the songs, along with that windows media player wouldnt play the songs due to a sound card wasnt updated. i checked my audio card and it was completely up to date with the correct drivers. i was talking with someone about windows media player and they said that the update to the 11th media player addition messed with there computer and they down gradded to the 10th with vista i cant down grade to see if this helps my problem. this problem with the songs not playing started when i updated windows media player..... i dont know what to do about this it blows all i really care about doing is listening to my music, i have downloaded another media player to see if that would fix itself i downloaded wim amp just to try it out but that did the same thing, it would show 0:00 and not play anything i went online to play some videos and such to make sure that my computer was still playing sound and it is i think this is a problem through itunes newest updated version 7.4 or media player 11... also my limewire library shows my downloads as not there but they are in my computer not sure if that is anything to do with it. im thinking theres a big compatibility problem somewhere.... please help me..

Thanks ....

Josh, (and to all who share this problem), I think I have found a solution.
After searching through every support tutorial available and reinstalling itunes many times, I decided to take a look at Quicktime. Turns out it didn't recognize my audio driver, or the "enhanced features" or something like that.
Anyway, try this:
Install iTunes (or have Quicktime installed at least)
Start Menu-->Control Panel-->Quicktime
Under the audio panel, click "Select Audio Playback and Recording Devices" (mine was flashing blue, like a sign from God)

Now just re-set your computer's audio driver as your playback device and you should be good to go!
I hope this works for you

Andy
