DivX and WMP codec problem HELP!

I have both DivX 2.1 and Windows Media Player 9, and I have been able to watch movies just fine. Just the other day, however, when I play a new movie i downloaded, in this case Exit Wounds, all the faces are a pinkish purple color. Whether I play it in WMP or DivX, they still have those damn purple faces and the color is a bit off. I didn;t mess with anything. I have once downloaded a codec for it, but i guess I accidently uninstalled it. Anyone know which codec I need who has had the same problem. Could they also post a link, because I don't want to have to download it from Kazaa or anything. It says it is a DIV 3 codec, so where can I get it? Also, If you have an Xvid MPEG4, Div 4 codec also Thanks for all your help.

A great program for finding what codecs you need for a video is called GSpot

To get the codec(s) you may need, just do a search on Google

Your Divx 2.1 is waayyy behind. Get Divx 5 here. I recomend getting the free one, without the ads.

well i got the newest bundle, like a 5 bundle, but when I install it, it says 2.1. Does that mean that it is not the current version or what?Anyone else have experience with these codecs. I have tried with google search and it is hard to find the right one that works.

Go to Kazaa Lite's website: http://doa2.host.sk/ and get the codecs pack. It has just about everything you'll need. I haven't had a problem since.

Try uninstalling the old divx player before installing the new one too. If you get that codec pack, it comes with BS player, which is an excellent file player. I avoid WMP at all costs because it's just a piece of junk in my opinion.

Well I like Windows Media Player, but I think I found out what was wrong. I went into my graphics card settings, and saw that the vibrance and saturations, gamma, etc were all moved to the right or left a little. I pressed the reset defaults button and it moved the sliders to the middle. I then played the movie, and it looked fine. I guess someone messed with the color settings.
