WOOHOOOOOOO!!!!LET THERE BE MUSIC

IT downloaded with the download manager, so I just ran it off that, restarted the computer, then, in the device manager, the yellow? was GONE! BUT, the AC97 was NOW under sound, video and game controllers. Then I checked my sound and audio devices, but it was still gray and dimmed. So naturally I went to the voice tab and naturally applied AC97 in lieu of the mode line. Applied it and then said OK.
Thankyou for your time and effort.

Hi Bookworm im Back! For some Reason, after a systems crash my sound driver was missing so I came back here, to re-install the Driver. (Unsure if this caused the crash or not?) Anyway shortly after reinstalling windows, BSOD/Re-Boots started occuring, Primarily but not limited too, when watchin Videos/Youtube/WMP11....etc.

Presuming this NOT to be the culprit, (since it worked fine in the past) it took me nearly two months to track this down. With a little help from Memtest86.

Im Presently without sound now and was wondering if you knew of any other Sound Drivers?

Also is there any folders I should Delete? Or anything in anything in the Registry that should be Deleted as well? Thankyou!

Oh Hi Bookworm.

Im sorry, for the misinformation. Im still getting BSOD, even with NO sound drivers installed. Currently have a yellow? Next to PCI communications controller. But this shouldnt be of concern, should it?

Ive been working on this problem for two months.

Resources

1. Memtest86 passed 5 passes with no errors(12hrs)

2. Still did it after two(diff) fresh install.(long)
a)Delete partition on second install.
b)No software Installed.

3. Still does it in safemode when watchin a video.

4. Does it occasionally(BSOD) when listening to LimeWire/WMP11 and sometimes when running House-call 6.6

5. Almost alway does it, when watchin youtube, or any Videos even if off-line. 30-90min

6. Certain programs, like DVDsanta(encoding) High-speed Simulators(CVData) almost always never complete and needs to close. Gets hung.

7. Have tried ChkDsk/f/r

8. Re-installing Sound or Video driver seems to temporarily help, but not solve.

9. Various error codes(main)irqs/Driler_less_or_not_equal>0x000000D1,0x000000f7,0x0 000000A

10. Ive never over clocked/ temp seems okay/never changed anything in BIOS/No viruses/Tried resetting page file/....etc

11. Still does it with or without SP3. Have all updates.

12. Windows repair is of no effect.

13. Still does it, with no yellows? In DM

________________________________________________

Possibilties

1.Havent tried Recover Console?

2.Havent flash BIOS

3. Will retry memtest for 7 passes

4. Red light lit-uo next to Memory sticks?

5. Gragichs card or hard-drive could be bad.

6. Registry corruption.

7. Red service indicator light, seems to be weakening.(perhaps the psu)

8. Big screen Monitor???

9. Both the Command prompt, and the Monitor, temp flash, off and then on
when installing a fresh copy.

10. Could be a combination of problems.

11. Havent tried updating any drivers....chipset,BIOS....etc

12. Everest Home Edition>DirectX>DirectXvideo>Under Hardware Driver>ati2dvag.dll/is the only one missing a bluex next to it????

13.Run>DXdiag, doesnt reort any problems?
