Flash player 9 conflict with KB923789
XPpro/SP2/IE7
Trying to install KB923789 when flash player 9 is installed results in 3 messages: 1. Gen Warn: The version of Windows you have installed does not match the update you are trying to install 2. The version of of Macomedia Flash you have installed does not match the update you are trying to install. 3. Flash player is installed
I am now getting an invalid Active XCom entry which cannot be removed because it seems to refer to C:\WINDOWS\System 32\Macromed\Flash\Flash6.ocx which no longer exists.
CLSID\{1171A62F-05D2-11D1-83FC-00A0C9089C5A}\NprocServer32 seems to be relevant.
The result is that registry cleaners always now find one registry item that cannot be removed.
Adobe TechNotes did not help
