Icons disappers form desktop when i do refresh the desktop..

Hi friends,
Whenever I do refresh my desktop, I get the message “C:\Documents and Settings\Default\Desktop” is not accessible and all the icons on the desktop except “my computer” and “recycle bin” disappears. What will be the problem..? IS it because of any virus attack..? Please give me a solution…
