Protecting my Work

Hi, I am looking for a software that will make sure that a certain MSWORD/MSEXCEL document will open/run ONLY on my PC.

And in case it is stolen, it wont open on any other PC without a password, will be rendered unreadable/useless on other PCs.

Thanks.

Thanks.

If someone can see the file or have access to it then they can try to break the password protection, right !?

You could use a very strong password with in the Word and Excel but that does not make it unbreakable(it just takes longer to break through).

You may want to hid the folder or encrypt the file within another file, here is what I mean:

You could buy a software called "folder cloak"...this software allows you to hide any folder of file (the file will not be visible to user, out of site out of mind).......and only if you know the password for opening the cloak software ,you will be able to access the hidden file / folder.

Next piece of software is very smart one , it's called masker......you can encrypt your Word and Excel file within a JPG file (yeah, you can hid file inside of a picture file...this software has been around for a long time).....so you can access your work file by opening your picture file via Masker. It's lots of work just to protect your files but if they worth that much to you then you would do it.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Hi snowmonkey,

Thanks, that's very useful, but its not what I'm looking for.

I didnt write what I wanted clearly last time, sorry.

Here's what I want:

I have written an excel sheet that I want should be used only on the PC I WANT.

The features i want...

If possible, my excel file or my ms-word file should not even open on any PC without a password.

So people can come and use it at my office but if they steal it and take it somewhere else, it should not run at all.

I just checked out softpuls.....lol....I like this software!!! (too bad its not what i need right now!)
