Hi everyone, would you happen to know anythng on this subject?

My computer had a virus, so i installed an anti-virus software, which is working perfectly fine, however my internet speed is very very slow. I have broadband , but my yahoo and google search engines are not working at all.
Does anyone know wht should i do, for the net speed to return back to normal?

the spyware just causes computers to go slow. if you dont have it, you might want to get hi speed internet, which makes it noticably faster

Talking Clear as Mud!

Hello Ashley,

I think before this question can be answered in the most complete and helpful fashion possible, we need a little more information (not ordered in terms of importance):

What AntiVirus software did you install?
What viruses (if any) did it find? Was it able to quarantine/clean everything?
When you say that your internet speed is very slow, have you tested it to see just how slow? Hard numbers are nice....
When you say that Yahoo and Google aren't working, what exactly do you mean? Are they taking a long time to load? Are they coming up as "Not Found"?
What is your system information? OS? etc.

I'm sure we can get you back to tip-top speed, so let us know!

I've found a considerable improvement in browsing speed by disabling many of the browser plugins:

IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Programs -> Manage Add-ons

You'll probably find many things listed which may or may not be of any use to you, try disabling them (one or two at a time), to see if it makes any difference.

(If in doubt, google the add-ons to find more details.)
