ms update failure(Security Update for Flash Player (KB923789)

hi, i keep getting this,
(Security Update for Flash Player (KB923789)) has failed to install when ms is telling me i have an update ready,tried to manually install same from update manager with same results, have recently formatted hd and reinstalled xp and updated to xp sp3, it is not showing up on belarc as missing and the pc is running fine. thanks in advance for any help given.

The version of Macromedia Flash you have installed does not match the update you are trying to install.

Go to www.adobe.com and and install flash player from there. By using the latest version you download from Adobe, it will overwrite the issue, since it is up-to-date.

To stop warnings from Microsoft Update, uncheck the KB923789 update, and click ok. It should then give you the option to 'Never display this update' or something similar.
