yo, i recently tired safari which is very fast but for the first time ,ever, i had my desktop hijacked, im not saying its safaris fault just in case safari want to sue my balls as well as bite em, and ive just up graded to f fox 3 which seems just as fast as safari now and i believe to be very safe too, just be sure that if you buy on line etc you choose a trusted browser,like mr peckerwood says its mainly a matter of choice.

The last answer was the best, i,ve been using Mozilla firefox for over 2yrs and in my view its the best, IE is an absolute waste of time but its a must be when using the OS. Install firefox and you will see the difference.

I'm used to Internet Explorer 7 (hated IE6 without the tabs). IE8 will be good once the final version is released.
