MS-Word Template : How to prevent word offering to save

I use Microsoft Word 2000.

I have a template setup for use, and people use this.

When you exit word it offers to save changes to this template.

Although I have write-protected the file, I do not want word offering to save the template.

I have heard you can sto word doing this to the template, but cannot find out how.

It seems as though it is being opened as a template, when it needs to be opened as a blank document.

Don't use File -> Open to access the template, as this will open the template *itself* for editing (and obviously allow saving of any changes).

Click on File -> New -> (navigate to and highlight your template) -> click create, which should create a new, blank Word document entitled "Document1", based on the template you chose.

Clicking save should then bring up the normal save (.doc) dialogue.
