I got hit by something the other night while shopping for presents (mine

). I have a red Icon in the system tray next to the clock. About every 15 seconds I get a pop up at the bottom right that stays on for 8 to 10 seconds then goes away. Says
"You have a security problem!" If you click on the red button, you get one of two screens that say "Reported Attack Site" and that it has been blocked. The two sites the screen alternates between are "scan.proantispyware-scanner.com" and "noway-clicks.com". One button at the bottome says to get me out of there, another says why was this site blocked. Using the second button sends me to a page that says safe browsing, advisory provided by Google and goes on to show some information about a site that has malware on it.
Also every once in a while, there is another pop up in the middle of the screen that says something about do I want to run a diagnostic. When I click that, it runs a sweep of the computer, then tries to sell me their virus software. I have Avast running on the computer. I did a full scan, had me turn off computer and restart so it would then scan the memory safely. It found 5 items and got rid of them. Still had the red icon in the system tray. Ran Malwarebytes and it didn't find anything. Ran Ad-Aware 2008, it found the normal stuff, but nothing bad. Still have the Icon.
I did a Google search on the "scan.proantispyware-scanner.com", found some information on it, but no help in getting rid of it. So do any of you have any ideas for me? I don't think it is actually harming anything, but it is very annoying. I'm sure it's the virus software companies hard sell tactics to get their software sold, and that bugs the heck out of me. Worse than the telemarketers. Thanks for any insight you can offer!! Jim.
