81003005 error when signing in to Yahoo Messenger

Hi!

I am not certain if I am posting this message to the correct Forum Category. But I am hoping someone can help me anyway. I have recently upgraded my Yahoo Messenger from ver 7.0 to 9.0. Everything went well when I downloaded and installed it. but whenever I try to login from Yahoo Messenger 9.0, it would not allow me to login. I am getting some error message and an error code of 81003005 (whatever that means). I tried to roll-back from the previous version of YM (ver 7.0), and that version allowed me to log back-in. I already sent a few messages to the customer service of yahoo but I guess none of them can figure out exactly what was going on. I have tried to search on the web to see if someone has an answer to this problem. I have found several blogs and forums which basically talks about the same problem as mine, but no one has a definite resolution to the issue. By the way, I am also having a problem broadcasting my webcam from YM7.0 but that is another issue.

I have posted quite a few questions here a couple of months back and all of my queries have been answered. So, I am very confident that someone can help me with this problem... But I hope it will be soon.

Just to let you know, I have tried everything to make the Yahoo Messenger worked. I have checked on the Proxies, Connections, and I disabled my firewall. But to no avail...

If YIM 7.0 works & YIM 9.0 doesn't, there's little point messing with or checking your connection settings which are obviously OK otherwise YIM 7.0 wouldn't work either, would it?

If you want to have the latest version of an IM client that works, I suggest you change to another one (eg Windows Live Messenger). It may even solve your webcam issue.

If a free piece of software gives me grief I simply look round for an alternative that doesn't. Simple.
