hellp dvd maker

hi can anyone help i have a hdd camcorder and dont like the software that came with it have tryed others but want to use windows dvd maker i have the latest codecs fore it and i am runing windows vister the prob is the file is a vor_movie the dvd maker starts fine but only converts a small amont and then says erro has ocurd can anyone help and yes ther is more than enough space on the dvd
