Acer laptop operating system

I have a new Acer Extensa but am unablee to use any ATT air card. It disables the operating system. Has anyone had this problem and is there a solution?

I also have a acer extensa and att air cards, ie: GC83, and 881 also a U881usb, mine disables the pcmcia port or usb ports and must shut down to get it started again, also no help from att or acer. its a problem no one wants to address i guess. I have no problem with these devices in my other HP or gateway. so if you or any one has a solution please advise.
