Using a PowerPoint Show as a Screensaver

Do any of you know of a useful utility that would turn on and off a PPS file so it could be used as a screensaver? The PowerPoint to Screensaver conversion software I found just doesn't get the job done, as it misinterprets custom animations and slideshow transitions. It seems a simple matter to write a small utility that would start a slideshow after a keyboard or mouse is idle for a period of time, then esc when either keyboard or mouse is moved.
