Exclamation Help needed (Problem with AVI files)

Hello
A few days ago a downloaded an AVI movie using torrent program..when finished downloading I tried to play the movie but all I get is 4 seconds of it and a message says USE WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER TO PLAY, although the file size is 700 MB, and I tried different programs to play it (windows media player, WMP Classic, Real Player, power DVD)
I got the same results, I downloaded it from a different torrent file, and I tried another Movie.
I got the same message while Enjoying the 4 seconds of the movie.
Please if any one can help me I'll be Very thankful.
Note: I have windows VISTA (if you need to know)
