How do I make Microsoft Word 2007 default to single-spacing?

Whenever I open a new document in Microsoft Office Word 2007 and start typing it is double-spaced. Is there any way to edit this so that it defaults to single-spacing on new documents?

Hi, in page layout select the arrow at the bottom right next to line spacing, this will open a dialog box, select the line spacing you want and then select default. This will change it to the default setting.
