Problem Upgrading Firefox

Instead of upgrading when Firefox 3 came out, I stuck with 2.0.0.20. Now I want to upgrade. So - I downloaded and installed but the install didn't work. Every time I try to open Firefox I get this message:
One or more files could not be updated. Please make sure all other applications are closed and that you have permission to modify files, and then restart Firefox to try again.

When I click OK, Firefox opens but it's the old version. I'm supposing that I need to uninstall Firefox and try again. However, I don't know what it is I need to back up so that I don't loose all my bookmarks and stuff. Can anybody tell me?

Thanks.

Hi, Yes uninstall the old version (save your bookmarks ect first) then download the full version.
