I have Symantec Norton Anti Virus. I read an article regarding a flaw in Symantec Security Check:
"...Security Check works by downloading an ActiveX tool to the user's computer. That tool is used to scan the system. But the company has warned that the tool has a flaw that could allow an intruder to seize control of the computer. The company urged customers to download the tool again at:
http://security.symantec.com/ssc/vc_about.asp "
I have been trying to search my comp to determine if I have this Security Check program or if it part of my Norton Antivirus, and it appears to not be here. However, I am not sure that I am looking in all the right places.
Can anyone suggest a method I can use to firmly verify I don't have Symantec Security Check program?
Also, if I don't have it, is this a worthwhile tool to have in addition to my anti virus?
Thanks - Denise
