Undo and redo functions of coreldraw 10

Hi everybody!

I'm new to this forum and I'm glad I found this site to be somewhat helpful. Forgive me for using the word "somewhat" which may be implied as "negative". That's because I'm still new and I'd never tried using this forum before for any help but I'm hopeful this site can be of help to me.

My problem is about the undo and redo functions of my corel draw 10. Both functions have become inutile since three days ago (I live in the Philippines, btw). They don't work anymore. The icons don't appear anymore in the menu bar. Their options in the edit menu list are disabled. I already tried the options and customize dialog boxes to corect the problem but it never worked at all. When I opened the options dialog box and under the shortcut keys for these functions, I found out their assigned shortcut keys are missing so I assigned them anew by choosing the said functions and assign them their respective shortcut keys in the appropriate box, click Assign button and cilck OK. I tried this three times because the first two attempts didn't work, as in shutting down my unit three times to ensure the new changes will take effect. I was totally frustrated that I sought for help from anywhere possible including this forum. When I checked the sortcut keys for both functions in both Options and Customization dialog boxes lately, the keys that I last assigned were shown. However, in the drop down menu list of the Edit in the menu bar, the undo function was assigned different shortcut keys (Alt+Backspace) but was disabled all the time whereas the redo function wasn't assigned any shortcut keys and like undo, it was disabled all the time.

Shouldn't I be despair finding a solution for this seemingly simple problem? I seem to have run out of heat, so to speak!

I had a similar problem with Corel Draw 9. My clown tool stopped working. I reinstalled the program 3 or 4 times and tried other things. Nothing worked. Finely I found a simple solution on another board. Hold down the F8 key while starting the Corel Draw program. You will be asked if you want to reset the Corel workspace to the default. Say yes. You will loose any custom setting you have made but, in my case, everything worked like new after that step. Hope this works for you.

Thanks a lot for the help. It was indeed a welcome relief but fortunately, a day after I sought help from this forum, I solved my problem.

It was caused only by the activation of the Mouse over button of my Corel Draw. I remembered checking (activating) it a day earlier because I was curious as to how it would work. When I uncheck it, I was surprise to find out that the undo and redo options and buttons from the menu bar already work. And that solved the problem.

don't forget to check the updates for each version. i am a wordperfect boy & i have wordperfect 2002 & by going to their site (www.corel.com) select downloads. the bad part of the downloads is the size of the file. let me know if it helps.
