Angry Intel CS630

Had to reformat my harddrive and lost my Create and Share Software CD. I have been able to download the drivers and can manually delete photos from my camera, but I cannot take an instant snapshot and I cannot access my camera for webcam use. I cannot find the original create and share software and have not been able to find anyone online so far who would be willing to share theirs. Does anyone have another resolution to my dilemma?? It would be greatly appreciated. Sparroe

Stupid piece of crap website means i have to type this all over again.

You can try the Intel website, and order a replacement CD. I can't seem to find the link now their site is awkward to navigate.

You can also use windows imaging to take snapshots and download pictures from the camera, as the cs630 is TWAIN compliant.

As you have already successfully installed the camera driver, plug the camera in and click Start/Programs/Accessories/Imaging.

When the imaging program loads, click File/Select Scanner. The cs630 is listed choose it. Now click File/Scan New. A window will appear showing live view from the camera, this window has controls for adjusting video, downloading stills from the camera's memory, and taking snapshots while the camera is tethered to the PC.

Reply if any q's, or if imaging is not present in your accessories folder.

Thumbs down Need a better CS630 driver for XP

Drivers are available everywhere, but they all seem to be the same driver: 1.0.0.48, dated in 2002. The problem is, when you have the camera connected to the computer via a USB cable and are trying to take snaps, it operates in lo-rez mode -- 320x240. There isn't even any place where you can try choosing the mode. This is a 640x480 camera, and being stuck in lo-rez is unacceptable.

That's not the only problem. Once you snap one of these lo-rez pics, it then uses too much compression when storing the JPG, resulting in that yucky blurriness around the edges of everything in the picture. No way to alter that, either.

Can anyone tell me where to find a DIFFERENT driver for the CS630 camera?

Cool Latest Driver for Intel CS630

Seems that this is the latest driver that we can get nowadays. Have tried to look for a newer driver but seems that no longer supported, too bad . Do inform us if you get a newer version for Intel CS630.

Question CS630 Intel Digital Cam / Webcam software

I have a CS630 digital camera / webcam and cannot locate the Create & Share software for it. I am using Windows ME and have been able to access the still photos on the camera using Imaging.

I am not able to access the video clips on the camera. Does anyone know of software I can use to transfer the videos to my PC? I have tried Windows Media Player and that did not work.

I could find no way to assign a drive letter to the camera in order to have a place to tell Media Player to go to get files. Anyone know how to assign a drive letter to an external device in Windows ME?

Thanks,
Brad
