Can't Play Video Clips I uploaded from Digital Camera

I have a Canon S330 Digital Camera, and when I upload the pics and video clips onto my personal XP Pro machine, I have no problems. AT work though, the pics are fine, but Windows Media Player wont play the .avi files. It says, "cant play video stream, no suitable decompressor found"...i downloaded real player, and it says it cant play it either..i even went to cnet and downloaded a file converter to make them mpegs and that didnt work..any suggestions? why is this happeneing?? btw my office comp is Windows 2000

One option might be to download some form of DivX, these I think are some general decompression codecs that might help the files play on Windows or Real Player

you can also try downloading codecs from kazaalite. it has an alternative real player & quicktime (saves you disk space by removing the unneeded files).
