putting your internet on hold

is there software that allows you to put your internet connection to yor pc on hold the re-enables it so like pause then resume the connection.

i currently have my connection to my pc from my router.

What are you trying to achive ? what is the goal here ? if you let us know then may be we would have some suggestion

you could enable and disable the Network card at WILL ,,,,,, That would pause your insternet connection.

its a long story with the way my home network is setup

i just need to know if there is a program that pauses my internet connection to my pc and then re-enable it.

The only thing I can think of is to enable the network connection icon in the system tray (Control Panel>Network Connections, right click on the connection you want to work with, go to Properties and on the General tab check, "Show icon in notification area when connected," click OK.

You can then right click on that icon and click on Disable to disconnect.
