uk xp user cant get into non msn chat rooms

Please help i am using windows xp pro in the uk and am aware that msn no longer allow uk chat rooms but I cant seem to get into any non msn rooms I have tried freeserve, chat city and numerous others but although I get past the registration when I am directed to the chat room I cant access.... please help
