I can't burn a cd over 700 mb what I could do with nero 5.x. without even turing on overburning now having overburning tun on it stil doesn't work although I did everyting as it should be according to nero home page I have also updated my firmwaire but it stil doesn't work. What else can I do???? maybe its due to aspi drivers but I have no idea what it is actually and where I can find it ( win xp version)

The average CD yes is 700MB but you can overburn them a fair bit. I have tested up to 720MB but never tried going beyond that. The exact mechanics of it is foreign to me, however I *think* it has something to do with Windows adds a few MB to the true size of the file or something along those lines.

I had a similar problem with Nero 6...19. I think there is a bug in the allocation of buffer size. I fixed it by going into..Options/UltraBuffer...and changing the setting from "Automatic" to "Manual" and setting the buffer size to 32.
Worked for me.
