clicking sound when backing up Audio CD

Hi all,

Just a quick question about burning CD’s. I have an AOpen 32x12x48x cd burner and when I try and backup cd’s, the backed up cd when played back has like a little clicking sound every now and then. It might happen 15 or 20 times in a song. I am only burning at 4x.

The software I am using is Nero Express. Is there any way I can stop this from happening??

would it be better if i copy the songs to the hard drive first and then to the CD. i was burning straight from the CD ROM to CD Burner.

O/S is windows XP Pro.

Thanks

Try using Error Correction:

1. Start Windows Media Player.
2. In Full mode, on the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the Devices tab, and then click Properties for the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive you are using for playback.
4. In the Playback Settings section, click Use error correction.

If that doesn't work, try configuring the player to use analog playback.

1. Start Windows Media Player.
2. In Full mode, on the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the Devices tab, and then click Properties for the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive you are using for playback.
4. In the Playback Settings section, click Analog.

thanks for that but i mostly listen to the backed up cd in the car. this is where i am hering this clicking sound. it is starting to drive me nuts.

even if i convert the songs from mp3 to cd to be played on any cd player, it does the same thing. i even tried using pinnacle software with the same results.

thanks

Can you burn your music from file to cdrw without the clicking sound or is it just the ones you burn cdrom to cdrw? If so, more than likely software or cdrom problem. You may have to do as you suggested in your first post - copy to hard drive first.

thanks for that. i have tried burning from the hard drive with the same problem. the clicking sound is still there. i havent tried burning to CD-RW because my car cd player doesn't play CD-RW.

it even happens when i have a ripped a CD to mp3 and then when i burn it as a normal cd, it still seems to have the clicking sound.

i'm totally lost on this one.
