custom install on networks .msi

Hello, i am having a little trouble.....

I work in a small company with about a 100 computers, and i am trying to find a way of doing a custom install and adding patches so when i install a software applications from the server such as office the patches they will get automatically installed at the same time producing a fully up to date software application on the 1st install.

what we currently do is admin install these programs onto a network drive, then when we install these applications onto a new computer we have to manually patch them up after the install has completed, which wastes time.
What i am wanting to do is make it so that whenever a new patch come out for the program i can add it to the custom install(i.e.office 2000 pro admin install) on the server so when i install the software onto a new computer the patch gets installed with it, stopping me having to mainually update the software.

Any sujestions?

what you are looking for is called Installation Manager,, it is a very nice feature but it has to be implemented properly,, I won't have time to explain it all but here are couple of links you could follow and dig out more about it:

Hi, I have a simular problem. I want to be able to install Office 2000 from our server. I have a page set up that I can use to download Groupwise, Novell and other applications I need when a new workstation is added to our network. All these applications install perfectly, but of course if I copy the Office 2000 into the folder and link it, I will be asked for the product ID. How and what file can I edit to make the installation work without carring around the product ID and typing it in everytime? Any ideas? Thanks a lot. Billie
