Adware / Spyware
Hi
I wonder if someone could help me.
I must have gone to some site that has installed adware on my computer and I just can't get rid of it. I am being bombarded with pop-ups (even when I am not browsing the internet).
Any ideas on how I can destroy it?
I have tried several freeware programs such as Spygone, Spy Remover, Lavasoft and Pop Up stopper, but either they don;t work or the pop-ups return as soon as the scan has finished.
I hope you can help me. I am going crazy!

Try Spybot. It often finds things Ad-Aware (Lavasoft) misses and vice versa.
Be SURE you update it before running the scan. You also need to update Ad-Aware before running its scan. When you download either program, what you get is the program and the basic reference files. You need to update them to get all the latest reference files in order to get rid of all the ever-changing spyware.
If that doesn't clear things up, download and run CWShredder.

I use Spyware Inoculator wiyh spybot, Inoculator prevents spyware from installing on your computer instead of removing
them afterward. spybot is free with all the updates

re problem
You might like to try SpyWare Blaster or SpyWare Guard too. After you have done the scans and found which registry keys are involved you might want to try www.regvac.com or go to the link bellow and find a registry cleaner you like. Daniel

As for cleaning I swear by Spybot Search & Destroy.
BE WARNED: This program is 100% freeware! Do not pay attention to those sites forcing you to pay for Spybot! It always has been and will most probably always be 100% free!
As for preventing, SpywareBlaster has never done me wrong.
The beauty is that these are updated almost on-the-fly.
I never liked Ad-Aware, it gave me problems, didn't detect quite a few things, and those that it did detect, it very rarely got rid of.

I recommend that you get both AddAware AND Spybot and run them in sequence. Also use CWShredder. Another one that will pull up things the others may miss is HiJack This; but it is much more difficult to determine what should be removed. The point is that no one tool will find them all.

Search around for a good adware remover.
I wud say that spy bot is a good remover.
if you're gonna spemd money, then norton anti virus is a good but quite expensive program.
