Boot disk required to downgrade from XP to Win95/98

A few months ago I made the mistake of installing XP on an old laptop that really isn't up to it. I'd like to wipe the hard drive and install Win95/98 on it but can't seem to do this just by creating a boot disk from the My Computer in XP.

Anyone got a file that will work or can you tell me how to make one?

basically you cant get one from winXP your gona need to get one off a friend or possibly download one probably get one of microsft.com you also need to convert the file system from ntfs back to fat32 once youve formatted it insert the win98 boot disk and type fdisk you can change all this here ( i think ) good luck

You can download the file to make a bootdisk from www.bootdisk.com.

However, the easiest way to format a drive with XP on it is to boot with the XP CD in the CD drive and use it to repartition and format. Just be sure to format it in FAT32.

Once you have that done, boot with a regular Win98 boot floppy and run the setup.exe file on the Win98 CD.

FAT32 good for windows 95 and 98 only right?
