(Completely) Inaccessible Folders & Files

I'm running Window 7 RC (Build 7100). I find that some folders, (especially those created in a program's save dialogue) are inaccessible unless I go into the save/open dialogue in the program that crated the folder. Likewise, all files are inaccessible, they can't even be copy/pasted (I get a file does not exist/can't find source file error). I've enabled 'show hidden files & folders' in Windows Explorer, but they still don't appear.
I've never encountered this problem in XP or any other system, just windows 7.
