internet pages do not load...error msg

Hi.

I seem to have a problem with my internet...for example when i load hotmail, i can put in my user name and password, then i get an error page as follows


“The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings…………

Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer “

This also happens when I’m using yahoo. I have a dial up connection with freeserve and most of the time the freeserve homepage doesn’t even load and I get the above error msg.

I have recently changed my modem, and that is the only changes I have made to my computer.

I'm currently running winodows 98 se with a intel p2

Load Internet Explorer then:

Tools > Internet Options > Security > Click the Default Button.

Also try clearing out all you Temp Internet Files.

If you have a Fire Wall Try Disabling it.
