Received my free security update CD from Microsoft

Hi all:

This is my first post on this forum, have been reading for a while and this is a very professional setup.

I received my free security update CD with the free shipping, actually it is 2 CD's, the other is a free trial of their antivirus and firewall software.

There are no instructions included so my question-- Do I have to update anything before installing? I am running Win Me, and have not updated anything since I got this computer 3 years ago, (it runs very smooth, have had zero problems with it) so am leary of changing anything.

Any other info I should have before installing?

Update after installing.

The Critical Updates on the CD are only the ones released through October 2003. The CD doesn't have any of the newer Updates on it. You should go to the Windows Update site to get the most recent Updates.

The firewall and anti-virus programs on the CD should have Update features within the programs.
