Soft Power button shut-down?

Please can anybody help. This one is doing my head in. Until recently the soft-power button on the front of my ATX case only started the PC, it had no effect once the PC had booted, Great. Now when I press the button the PC shuts down immediately. How can I get it back to the way I liked it, i.e. windows had full control over the shutdown. I have looked in the power management section on windows 98SE but it only gives me two options. One is to shutdown, and the other is to suspend.

Any help please.

Perhaps a change in your BIOS settings? I don't know the brand or type of your BIOS, but it should be there somewhere. I always put it on delay, so it won't poweroff if you accidentally push the button, but after holding it for an amount of seconds.

Thanks M8,

I've tried that one but I've noticed that it doesn't make any difference to which setting I use. It can be set to delay of 4 seconds, or instant power off, but the PC still powers off straight away, i.e. it even ignores the 4 second delay. I'm not sure if windows plays a part in it. I'm looking at the ACPI function of windows. I've read somewhere that this has to be loaded.
