losing time

I have a dell pc..that is running windows me...it is losing time...I initially replaced baterry and that seemed to do the trick...but it has only been 2 months and the darn thing is losing time again...about 30 minutes a day....any help would be greatly appreciated

Click on the time > Internet Time > un-tick "Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server".

Possibly the battery is flat. A small watch type battery that has sole charge of keeping the clock up to date.

Is your dell and old one.
Do you frequently leav it completely unplugged from the wall..if so dont as batteries get charged off of mains power. If your dell is old the battery could just be u/s.

Pc not on the web? hmm... maybe a web connection is a good idea for updates, virus protection and like fixes.



The computer still owrks without a clock anyway..

It's possible the battery had been on the shelf quite a while. I've replaced mb batteries only to have them dead after a couple of weeks. Replace the battery again and if the problem is solved, the first replacement had a lot of age on it when you bought it.
