illegal operations
hi i wonder if you can help. my friend has been given a windows 98 pc, but we have no disks with it.
we have got it to start up, but when you click on control panel, recycle bin, my computer, in fact just about everything other than the free cell and card games it comes up with this message

explorer caused an invalid fault in module <unknown> at 0000:69f8e808
if i go into safe mode i can open any of the programs without problems. he is not connected to the internet. all i can say is that the peson that used to have it must of been into buffy the vampire slayer as at the top of the explorer bar page there is a big picture of one of the characters. is there any way i can get this off? do you think this might be causing the problem?? i cant ask the person who gave us the pc as they are no longer in the country and we have no contact with them lol!!
i could just give up but it seems such a waste as it could be a great pc!! please help, thanks
