sound card and usb doesn't work in Me

My sound card doesn't work, and I am also getting a error with my usb ports. I have a creative sb! live value sound card which is getting this error - The NTKERN.VXD, MMDEVLDR.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver. (Code 2.) Also, when checking the device manager, there is a exclamation point on the usb ports as well. I am using Windows Me.

I have seen several posts on different websites from people with the same problem. I haven't seen one post for a remedy for this problem other than reformatting the hard drive. Any suggestions?

im guessing from what you said that theres a exclaimation point on both the sb live and usb. an exclaimation point means either that a device is missing, not recognised, or the drivers are messed up.

try installing/updating the drivers and it should clear up your problems... (either from their respective discs, or from downloading them off of the internet.)

I have tried that already without any luck. I have also uninstalled them and tried reinstalling them to the same result.

Are`u sure u are installing correct drivers for soundcard?
NTKERN.VXD sounds like a Windows NT/XP virtual device driver.
Also it has to be said your hampered by using Win ME. Just ask on any forum. It was/is a real pain to use without problems of one sort or another. many devices didn't have drivers written specifically for ME and those that claimed to be ME compatible were very often not. I discovered that Win 98 drivers would not work with ME unless I installed Win 98 first, then the drivers, then Win ME. I use XP now I'm glad to say!
