Yeah he's right you need to use FDisk to remove the partition(s), then create a new one then format the hdd, easy!

Question almost same problem

I have almost the same problem, old PC with Win95 installed, only the computer owner decided that he would free up space and started deleting things. !?!?!?! (we try not to let him around a computer too much) Now the A: drive will not read a disk. Is there any way I can format the hard drive and have it boot up to the CD drive so I can install Win98?

The drive is also partitioned, when you said to delete old partition and make a new one - can you give detailed instructions please?

Any ideas on how I can get the A: drive to start working again?

Thanks
