restoring system ??

Hi,

I installed a wireless network card to my PC, which didn't work as i had liked, so i have removed it. Im current running windows 98 (first edition) on this PC.

The problem i have is that now, when i load into windows, i get prompted to enter a network "username" and "password", to which i press cancel and then windows carries on loading.

How could i stop this happening?

Also when i go to "dial-up" to the internet, my connection password is not saved, so i have to enter the password everytime (the save password field can not be selected)

What is causing this?

Hi gazuk2003

If Windows will continue to load if you click OK instead of Cancel.
(Change Password option is not available if Network Logon is canceled)
Then do this, Right click on "Network Neighborhood" and
select "Properties".
Change the "Primary Network Logon" to
"Windows Logon" and click OK.
You will be prompted to Restart the Computer,
Select NO and do this,
click Start\Settings\Control Panel
In the Control Panel open Passwords.
In Password Properties click the "Change Windows Password" button.
In the Change Windows Password box leave all three fields blank and click OK.
You should receive: "The Windows password has been successfully changed".
Click OK.

Restart the Computer.
